Evaluations

Evaluations include a review of your child’s medical and developmental history, criterion-referenced and/or standardized assessments, current areas of strength, and development of a treatment plan and goals with your family.

Therapy

Now comes the fun part! Therapy is always engaging and tailored to your child’s specific needs and interests. Interest-based therapy is continuously and carefully crafted by the SLP to help your child reach their speech and communication goals.

Rates

  • Therapy session (50 minutes): $120

  • Speech evaluation: $300

  • Speech and language evaluation: $500

*Your child may not need an evaluation if they have been evaluated by another SLP or a school district in the last 12 months.

The rate of therapy sessions includes the 50 minutes of direct therapy time working one-on-one with your child, as well as the indirect time the therapist spends developing the most engaging and effective therapy for your child.

Indirect therapy time includes the time spent reviewing evaluations and treatment plans, preparing treatment activities to increase engagement, writing notes after each session, researching current evidenced-based therapy, and continuously tailoring treatment to help your child reach their speech and language goals. The fifty minutes of direct therapy time represents hours of indirect therapy each week.

First Comes Play Speech Therapy Inc. is a private pay practice and is not currently enrolled with any insurance companies. Insurance companies often dictate therapy goals and the number of visits allowed based on what they are willing to cover. There are several benefits to private-pay therapy. You and the child’s therapist can develop the treatment plan, including goals and frequency of visits, based on your child’s needs.

Maybe you just have a couple of questions about your child’s development, and you’re not sure where to start. We love answering questions! Feel free to give us a call!
